Channel on Jalan Gunung Sahari Dredged from Mud

The Pademangan Sub-district Water Resources Executing Unit (SDA), North Jakarta, dredged 20 cubic meters of mud from the water channel on Jalan Gunung Sahari, RW 13, Pademangan Barat Urban Village.

Dredging is still ongoing and is targeted to be completed by early October

Pademangan Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Dewi Marlina said, dredging starts from Mie Gacoan Restaurant to Sederhana Mangga Dua Restaurant.

"This work has been ongoing since September 9, 2025," she expressed, Monday (9/22).

She explained, the mud in the channel has reached 50 centimeters and is feared to be prone to causing flooding.

According to her, mud and trash in the channel with a height of one centimeter and a width of 1.2 meters were removed along a length of 328 meters.

"We sent 11 personnel to the location. Until now, the dredging is still ongoing and is targeted to be completed by early October," she explained.

She added this area often experiences flooding, especially during heavy rains and as a result of the high water levels in the Ciliwung Lama River.

She hoped that this dredging could help optimize the capacity of the channel that has been filled with trash and sediment deposits.

"We also invite residents to jointly take care of the drainage system by not littering randomly," she added.

This work received appreciation from one of the residents, Akmal Haryadi (28).

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), the channel has been dredged, so we are not too worried about flooding happening again because the water capacity is greater," he closed.
